In September of 2022, The University of Texas at San Antonio's Wellbeing Services embarked on a collaboration with Chloe Rotonda's initiative, MyDecisionMyChoice, aimed at enhancing the accessibility of contraceptive services for the 34k students at UTSA. Chloe Rotonda, then a 10th-grade student, initiated this partnership by reaching out to UTSA after learning how abortion laws are influencing women's college decisions. After identifying UTSA's size and reach, Chloe communicated directly with President Dr. Taylor Eighmy, who facilitated her connection with UTSA Wellbeing Services. Collaborating with Wellbeing Education Coordinator Jamie Singh, Chloe took proactive steps to introduce her initiative to UTSA students, which has benefitted 4.5k female students with monthly contraceptive packages. Chloe's motivation stems from her belief that women should never face constraints when choosing their educational paths. She emphasized PRJKT RUBY’s confidential service, which allows contraceptives to be privately mailed to dorm rooms. This service empowers women to take control of their reproductive health, enabling them to pursue their education without compromise.
